The National Garden Bureau (NGB) is the non-profit marketing arm of the gardening industry.
National Garden Bureau previously had a custom built site that was difficult to update and not mobile responsive. Our client wanted an easy-to-update, modern looking site. Other objectives included providing tiered levels of promotional opportunities on the site to help member organizations reach an interested audience and to provide differentiating levels of benefits related to membership levels.
What We Did
Budget considerations and the need for almost daily site updates drove the solution for a theme-based WordPress site with custom work for specific functionality and design details.
Verve created a site with the client’s direction for a new site with a clean, modern feel and white background that showcases the plants, modern lifestyle imagery and lots of white space. The new site also provides opportunities for NGB member organizations to promote products within popular pages next to related content. A sidebar template with advertiser word and character counts was created to ensure attractive ads in line with the overall look of the site.
National Garden Bureau has seen an increase in participation and membership. Partner members appreciate new promotional opportunities on the site next to related content and the Board is thrilled with the increase in site visits. The organization is also now able to track site participation such as file downloads.
This site was a 2017 Communicator Award of Distinction Winner for Non-Profit Websites.
