Advocacy: Multilingual site helps those vulnerable to predatory financial practices

The Brand and Challenge

WeProsper is a joint initiative of Woodstock Institute, New America Chicago, and The Chicago Urban League to help protect and assist those vulnerable to predatory financial practices in Illinois. Consumer resources were previously on site pages within a partner site which was limiting.

What We Did

A new stand alone website was created that provides a dedicated online space for the initiative. The core of the site is a financial literacy resource that is updated on a monthly basis due to continually changing legislation and partner services. Visitors can also participate in ongoing research into the experiences and needs of those who have been impacted by predatory and discriminatory financial practices.

The multilingual website toggles between an English version website and a Spanish version website that speaks directly with Chicago’s Hispanic community. Both sites contain downloadable financial resource guides that are actively updated.

Verve Marketing Group also has created digital graphics to support and promote the WeProsper Illinois’s financial resource guide and paid opportunities to share personal experiences with predatory financial practices.
