Leadership Bios


Joan Begitschke

Founder, Chief Marketing Strategist

Joan helps connect the dots between client objectives and creative execution and leads overall efforts for the health and growth of the firm. Specific client activity includes marketing strategy, copywriting, WordPress development, and content creation.

Before Verve, Joan helped build businesses and brands in the corporate, non-profit, and agency worlds, including as brand architect and marketing driver behind the New Living Translation, campaigns for New York Times best sellers, and work for multi-million dollar non-profit social service and professional organizations. Joan holds a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and MBA in Marketing from DePaul University.


Seth Guge

Principal, Creative Director

Seth is a solutions-oriented designer who is equally at home in both the digital and print worlds. He is hands-on at the agency for all graphic design and UX/UI web development.

Seth’s career has included design leadership roles at Arc Worldwide/Leo Burnett, Euro RSCG, and Burrell Communications where he has brought his creative talents to brands such as Target Stores, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Verizon, and Proctor & Gamble. Recognition for Seth’s work includes being featured in Print magazine and numerous website awards while at Verve. Seth holds a B.A. in Visual Communications from Judson University and was one of forty design leaders selected for the Harvard Business School’s 2007 Business Perspectives for Design Leaders program.


Joe Edakkunnathu

Director of Web and SEO Delivery

Joe is our resident web technical guru and SEO expert. His hands-on experience through the ever-changing Google search algorithms over the past decade provides clients with an uncommon depth of knowledge for search optimization across a wide range of industries and varying search objectives.

An 20-year veteran of the interactive space, Joe has worked for some of Chicago’s largest agencies and consulting firms including Tribal DDB, USWeb/CKS, TMP Worldwide, and Sapient. His interactive work has included work for brands such as McDonald’s, US Cellular, Harley-Davidson, CDW, and Rush Medical Center. Joe holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois, Chicago.
